Welcome to Drumore Farms
Welcome Picture

Drumore Farms is the family farm of the Lennox’s;  John, Nadia, John-Ross and Scott.  It traces back to the ancestral home of the “Ross family” from Inverness, Scotland.

Drumore got its real start in Canada when we met Jim Smith.  Jim’s influence on the present day herd is very evident.

Jim and John met in the late ‘90’s and over a period of time Jim has taken over the task of directing the operation.  Jim’s first purchases were two cows from Jim Hasson.  Those two cows, HCCC Pebbles 2J, a 9440 cow and the Stockman 365 cow, Miss Middlebrook 5J have produced great daughters throughout our herd.

5J went on to be Supreme Champion at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair the next year and the judges commented that she was “the best uddered cow he had ever seen”.  Today those traits can be seen in her daughters.  Pebbles 2J is a full bodied cow and her daughters pass this trait on as well.

This was our start…and what a start!!  With Jim’s guidance we purchased several cows throughout Ontario and Western Canada to increase our herd which, after much culling, now has 80 brood cows.

We purchased several good cows and bulls from Justamere, Prime Time Cattle, and Hamilton Farms in the West, and from Legend Lane and Highland Farms locally.  Some of those cows and bulls, like Justamere’s Panama Jack, our present “junior herd bull”, and Prime Time’s 619S went on to be champions and are now part of our herd.
Our cows are our strength and our objective is to produce that high quality we would be proud to have in other herds.

Over the past ten short years we have strived to accomplish our goal, and so in 2009 we will sell our first crop of elite calves, satisfied that buyers can build on our success in their own herds.

We invite everyone to visit us at Drumore and talk to Jim about our program.
Drumore Farms is located in the Brooklin area, north-east of Toronto, and we are also developing a farm in South Western Ontario where our son, John-Ross, runs a cash crop operation.  The “Port Dover Farm” will be operational in 2 – 3 years.
